Después de un escueto anuncio sobre «el inicio del arco final» hace alrededor de un año y de una explosión de popularidad gracias a su versión anime, el manga de Kimetsu No Yaiba llegó esta semana efectivamente a su final en el capitulo 205 del manga.
En realidad, hasta que el anuncio no se hizo oficial en el número 204, la mayoría de fandom de esta historia tenía la esperanza de que la serie se extendiera.

A pesar de las solicitudes de los fanáticos, el viaje de Tanjiro y sus amigos terminó con la derrota de Muzan y un pequeño epílogo ubicado meses después de ello, para luego hacer un viaje de varias décadas al futuro donde vemos a los nietos de los sobrevivientes y a quienes podrían ser re-encarnaciones de varios personajes muertos.
Una de las críticas más fuertes sobre el final de la historia es que los diálogos de Muzan dejaron muchos frentes abiertos sobre la existencia de otros «Reyes Demonios» aparte de él mismo; así como el vacío enorme sobre qué era el «lirio de la araña azul» (a pesar de la breve nota sobre el mismo en el último número); otro detalle, no menor, es la gran incógnita sobre la identidad del doctor que transformó a Muzan y su origen o destino posterior.
En medio de todas las preguntas el autor (¿o autores?) Koyoharu Gotouge no ha dicho nada sobre una posible continuación en otra serie; pero si se confirmó que vendrán 2 spin-offs: uno centrado en Rengoku y otro que será la misma historia en versión «novela».
