Nova City cobra vida en el trailer de siete minutos que ANANTA, el ambicioso RPG urbano free-to-play de NetEase y Naked Rain, acaba de presentar. El adelanto llega justo antes del Tokyo Game Show 2025, y deja claro que este juego quiere romper moldes. Desde lo cotidiano hasta lo sobrenatural, desde carreras callejeras hasta destrozar objetos improvisados, ANANTA busca mezclar lo familiar con lo extraño. Aquí lo que ya se sabe, lo que promete, y lo que aún debe confirmarse.

Lo que se ve en el nuevo trailer

El trailer revela una ciudad vibrante, llena de actividad, con múltiples niveles: azoteas, pisos intermedios, callejero, interiores. Las zonas visibles no están limitadas: puedes escalar, balancearte (tipo gancho) y alcanzar casi cualquier punto que tus ojos divisen, gracias al sistema “ultra-free 3C” (Personaje/Cámara/Control). Se muestran vehículos de todo tipo —autos, taxis, autobuses, metro, incluso helicópteros— que se utilizan tanto para moverse como para cumplir misiones. Se alterna entre explorar distritos iluminados de neón y callejones oscuros, entre eventos sociales, exploraciones tranquilas, y acción intensa.

El combate aparece como uno de los puntos más robustos: no es solo apretar botones para usar ataques especiales, sino pelear con lo que el entorno te da. Puedes usar objetos comunes (como botes de basura, tacos de golf, postes, etc.), desarmar enemigos, tomar sus armas, esquivar, bloquear, contraatacar. Hay variedad de armas, desde cuerpo a cuerpo hasta armas de fuego o de rango. También escenas de persecución en coche, de rescate, de caos improvisado.

El trailer también muestra que puedes asumir distintos roles en la ciudad: policía, hacker, repartidor, streamer, miembro de una fuerza especial. Cada rol tiene su historia, misiones propias, y mecánicas particulares. Además, hay un fuerte componente de vida urbana: interacciones con NPCs que tienen rutinas, vida propia, eventos aleatorios como peleas de pandillas, carreras callejeras ilegales, charlas cotidianas, ocio nocturno, etc. Un detalle curioso: se muestran momentos absurdos casi surrealistas, como un lavabo con patas corriendo por la calle, para recordarnos que el juego no siempre será serio.

También se ve que las decisiones que tomes importan: tus acciones tienen repercusiones visibles. Puedes usar redes sociales dentro del juego para tu reputación, tus elecciones pueden alterar cómo interactúan los NPCs, qué misiones se activan, tal vez generar caos o control. No está simplemente manejar misiones lineales, sino jugar con el tejido urbano como algo flexible.

Qué promete

El juego promete ser mucho más que una ciudad para recorrer: quiere ser una ciudad que reacciona, una simulación urbana con acción sobresaliente. La promesa es de explorar libremente, pero también de que esa libertad tenga peso. Que puedas escoger tu enfoque: enfrentarte a amenazas paranormales (“Chaos”), investigar misterios, vivir lo cotidiano, forjar tu reputación como líder de un equipo, alternar personajes para distintas tareas, usar el entorno como arma, improvisar combates.

Además, el juego aspira a funcionar en múltiples plataformas: PC, PlayStation 5, iOS y Android. Será gratuito, y se ha anunciado que habrá preregistro. También se podrá probar en la Tokyo Game Show 2025, lo que sugiere que están en una etapa de mostrar lo que han construido hasta ahora, aunque sin fecha definitiva de salida.

Lo que podría cambiar

A pesar de lo impresionante del trailer, hay varias preguntas abiertas:

  • Aún no se sabe la fecha exacta de lanzamiento.
  • No está claro qué tan profundo será el sistema de monetización: si habrá compras cosméticas, gacha para personajes, pago para avanzar, etc.
  • No está claro cuántas ciudades habrá disponibles al lanzamiento, ni cuántas regiones interconectadas serán explorables desde el inicio.
  • Aunque se muestran roles múltiples, no se sabe si todos los personajes estarán disponibles de inicio ni cómo se desbloquean, ni si hay jugabilidad cooperativa real entre jugadores o sólo contenido para un solo jugador.
  • Rendimiento en móviles: no se ha confirmado si gráficamente serán los mismos efectos que en PC/PS5, o cómo se adaptará la experiencia.

ANANTA parece querer ser un juego diferente dentro del género urbano / mundo abierto: tiene estilo propio, mecánicas que combinan exploración, combate improvisado, roles diversos y una ciudad que respira, con vida, con lugares, con absurdos. Si logra cumplir lo que promete, podría redefinir cómo se hace un RPG urbano free-to-play.

Por ahora, todo lo que se ha mostrado causa mucha expectativa. El trailer sugiere un juego con ambición grande, espacio para creatividad, para caos, para lo inesperado. Pero la expectativa también trae responsabilidad: los jugadores querrán que lo que se ve sea lo que se juega finalmente. Lo que se sabe: se acerca algo grande.
