A pesar de que ya ha vendido más de 13 millones de copias desde su lanzamiento a finales de 2020, el juego ‘Cyberpunk 2077’ sigue envuelto en polémica por problemas de rendimiento en las consolas de nueva generación de Sony y Microsoft. Ahora se ha abierto una nueva investigación en Polonia.

La Oficina de Competencia y Protección del Consumidor de ese país está investigando toda la «confusión» en torno al lanzamiento del videojuego y con respecto al tema de las devoluciones con las que se ha comprometido la compañía desarrolladora. La entidad conocida como UOKiK (por sus siglas en polaco) está a la espera de respuestas por parte de CD Project RED.

Estamos pidiendo a la compañía una explicación sobre los problemas con el juego y las acciones que tomaron. Verificaremos cómo el desarrollador está trabajando en parches o resolviendo problemas que impiden jugar en varias consolas, pero también qué pasos [la compañía] planea tomar con respecto a las personas [que solicitaron reembolsos] y no están contentas con su compra porque no pueden jugar el juego en el hardware de su propiedad, a pesar de las garantías del productor.

La Oficina de Competencia y Protección del Consumidor de Polonia podría imponer a la compañía desarrolladora de ‘Cyberpunk 2077’ hasta una multa de 10% de sus ingresos anuales en caso de encontrar demasiadas irregularidades, o bien, podría solicitarle que emita bonificaciones digitales a quienes compraron el juego para consolas de última generación.
