Hoy se inaugura la decimocuarta edición del Festival Global de Cortometrajes shnit San José. Este año el festival tomará como escenarios el Cine Magaly y la Sala Garbo y las funciones se extenderán hasta el 20 de octubre.

El festival brinda una oportunidad de disfrutar de producciones de diferentes partes del mundo con la competencia WORLDWIDE así como la sección INTERNACIONAL, con cinco funciones temáticas de producciones destacadas en formato de corto, incluyendo funciones de cortos de comedia, románticos, animados, eróticos y de terror. Además cada año representa una plataforma para conocer las mejores producciones a nivel nacional con la competencia MADE IN COSTA RICA, así como una muestra que celebra la identidad costarricense con su función Sabor Local: CHURCHILL.

Otro de los atractivos es la presentación de los cortos producidos en el concurso REEL Time, que fue llevado a cabo hace algunas semanas y en el que los participantes crearon un cortometraje en tan solo 48 horas. Estas funciones se llevarán a cabo el 11 y el 18 de octubre.

Este año también tiene una función muy especial. En alianza la Embajada de Suiza en Costa Rica, el shnit presenta una selección de obras destacadas del año pasado del Festival de Cine Locarno, un prestigioso festival internacional de cine que se celebra anualmente en Locarno, Suiza. Esta función será el 15 de octubre a las 6:30 pm en el Cine Magaly.

Finalmente el 19 y 20 de octubre se proyectará una selección con lo más destacado del año en BEST OF 2024.
