El cómic llamado «Darth Vader: Dark Lord of the Sith 1: The Chosen One, Part I » (sí, así de largo) se encargó de revelar un dato «bomba» para los fans de la saga, incluso desmintiendo información previa en la que la madre de Anakin, Shmi Skywalker, le confesaba a Qui-Gon Jinn que su hijo no tenía padre, simplemente nació. Pues resulta que sí hay un progenitor y se trata nada más y nada menos que del Senador Palpatine.
La teoría indica que esto fue posible gracias a la la capacidad de Palpatine de manipular midiclorians en el útero de Shmi para crear vida. De hecho en el Episodio III hay un diálogo en el que Anakin escucha de boca de Palpatine la historia de un Sith llamado Darth Plagueis, el cual fue “tan poderoso y tan sabio que usaba la fuerza para influir sobre las midiclorians y crear vida”, este hombre transmitió todo ese poder a un aprendiz, el cual luego lo asesinó sin piedad (posiblemente era el mismo Palpatine).
Si bien muchos abogan que la información puede resultar ambigua, ya que se trata de una visión de Darth Vader, lo cierto es que hay muchas pistas que fortalecen esta importante revelación.
