En una tramsmisión en vivo, HBO dio todos los detalles de la llegada de su servicio de streaming a Latinoamérica y el Caribe. La fecha en que llegará a los 30 territorios anunciados será a partir del 29 de junio, y entre lo más importante que se mencionó en la tramisión fue el precio. Un atractivo costo de $3 mensuales, para la suscripción básica de la plataforma. Además habrá descuentos para quienes adquieran el servicio por tres meses o por un año.
Los suscriptores del servicio podrán disfrutar de contenido y estrenos exclusivos de HBO, Warner Bros., Max Originals, DC y Cartoon Network. Asimismo, podrán acceder, sin costo adicional, a estrenos de películas de WarnerBros 35 días después de su debut en cines de América Latina.
“Al combinar HBO con lo mejor del catálogo de películas y series de WarnerMedia, así como con contenido producido localmente por maestros narradores de América Latina, HBO Max ofrecerá a los fanáticos de la región una experiencia de entretenimiento inolvidable y enriquecedora”, comentó Johannes Larcher, director de HBO Max International.
Ciertamente HBO Max entrará como una propuesta que moverá la guerra de servicios de streaming de forma interesante, sobre todo por su bajo costo en comparación con el que ofrecen otros servicios como Netflix, Amazon Prime y Disney+. Durante el evento se comentó que tomaron en cuenta la capacidad adquisitiva de la región y las dificultades ocasionadas por la pandemia, y esto los llevó a establecer este costo tan bajo.
