La secuela también traerá Miles «Tails» Prower y se presume que contará con el regreso del Dr. Robotnik de Jim Carrey. Sin embargo, aún no hay más detalles sobre la trama. La información sugiere que la segunda película de Sonic se extraerá del tercer juego de la saga.
