Desde la salida de la plataforma Haswell-E y su procesador «punta de flecha» para consumidores, el Core i7 5960X (8 núcleos físicos), se rumoreaba sobre la empresa desarrollando un microprocesador Intel de 10 núcleos (ya que la nueva carrera es sobre tener más núcleos y no megahertz).

Pues ayer (30 de mayo de 2016), durante su conferencia en Computex, el gigante de los CPUs develó su nueva línea de procesadores para entusiastas Core i7 69XX/68XX, a continuación la familia completa y sus especificaciones:

Como era de esperarse, quien se robó el show fue el i7-6950X y sus 10 núcleos con 20 hilos (HyperThreading). Con este nuevo CPU Intel promete a sus usuarios el doble de desempeño en cuanto a renderización de 3D contra el i7-6700K (valorado en $350) y un 35% más rápido que su antecesor, el i7-5960X (valorado en $1000). En cuanto a streaming y gaming en 4K, se dice que será 25% más rápido, que el 5960X.

El precio sugerido para este súper procesador es de $1,723 y su hermano menor, el i7-6900K (8 núcleos) en $1,089.

Aún no existen fechas de salida o benchmarks de tales procesadores, pero esperen más noticias en los meses venideros.
