Con la confirmación de Daniel Craig pendiente, al menos de manera oficial, Eon Productions y MGM decidieron desviar la atención hacia otro importante detalle, la fecha en que se estrenará la próxima aventura de James Bond. La que significará la 25ta producción del Agente 007 llegará a la gran pantalla el 8 de noviembre del 2019, así que hay bastante tiempo para que Craig se decida.
Durante las últimas semanas incrementaron los rumores sobre el posible regreso de Craig, quien protagonizó las últimas cuatro películas (Casino Royale, Quantum of Solace, Skyfall y Spectre), a lo que se suma que Adele volvería a interpretar el tema principal, pero ambos datos continúan como reportes.
Adicionalmente, las últimas dos entregas fueron dirigidas por Sam Mendes, quien dejó muy en claro que no regresaría, por lo que para muchos Spectre funge como el final de la saga que comprende la aparición de Craig y otros detalles.
El guion estaría a cargo de Neal Purvis y Robert Wade, quienes tienen amplia experiencia tras haberse visto involucrados con Casino Royale, Skyfall y Die Another Day.
