Resulta que según información proveniente de Variety, Cena podría sumarse a la siguiente película de James Gunn ‘The Suicide Squad’. Según el periodista Justin Kroll, el papel habría sido ofrecido en primera instancia a Dave Bautista, pero lo rechazó debido a su apretada agenda.
Aún no se ha confirmado al 100% esta información, pero se piensa que entre los personajes que podría interpretar el luchador se encuentran Ratcatcher, King Shark, Polka Dot Man o Peacemaker; algunos de ellos tendrían un tono cómico con el cual Cena se ha visto cómodo en otras películas.
El elenco está cerca de ser completado en caso de ser cierta esta noticia, después de que ya se ha confirmado la presencia de Margot Robbie, Idris Elba, Viola Davis y Jai Courtney.
