Según una entrevista que realizó The Independent al actor Mark Ruffalo (quien se encuentra promocionando su nueva película ‘Dark Waters’) el presidente de Marvel Studios, Kevin Feige, llegó a pensar que no iba a durar mucho en su puesto, pues quería impulsar la idea de mayor inclusión en las películas de Marvel.
Según las declaraciones de Ruffalo, en ese entonces era todo un reto tratar de convencer a los más altos mandos de aprobar la realización de una película de superhéroes protagonizada por mujeres o por afrodescendientes o por personajes LGBTQI, algo que ya hoy es una realidad (bueno, la del superhéroe gay viene en camino).
Cuando hicimos los primeros Avengers, Kevin Feige me dijo: ‘Escucha, podría no estar aquí mañana'», dijo. «Y él dice: ‘Ike [Perlmutter, el mayor accionista de Disney en ese momento] no cree que nadie vea una película de superhéroes protagonizada por una mujer. Entonces, si todavía estoy aquí mañana, sabrás que gané esa batalla.

Así es entonces como el mismo actor considera a Feige como el principal impulsor de la inclusión en Marvel, pues esa decisión fue un punto de inflexión para consolidarlo como uno de los estudios más inclusivos de la actualidad. Ruffalo también agregó que espera que los demás estudios de cine y TV sigan ese ejemplo.
