Un reporte de Siliconera confirma los rumores que ya se escuchaban desde hace tiempo. Mega Man X Legacy incluirá por primera vez una modalidad llamada Rookie Hunter (Cazador de Novatos), que puede activarse desde el menú principal o en cualquier momento del juego. Entonces, los jugadores podrán bajar la velocidad de los títulos para no volverse locos al intentar vencer a los Robot Hunters. Además, el modo novato reducirá la cantidad de daño que sufre Mega Man con cada golpe. Así la vida del protagonista tendrá una mayor duración.
