Hace muchos años, cuando jugaba un título musical, recuerdo mis intentos fallidos de lograr terminar una canción en Guitar Hero, y hasta llegué a probar alguno que otro juego de móviles relativo a esta temática. Desde hace más de un mes hemos estado probando Spin Rhythm XD, un juego musical, o de rhythm como se le categoriza en Steam. Tras muchos fallos, pero sobre todo satisfacción, logramos ser casi unos maestros en este nuevo indie.
Lo primero que notaremos es que Spin Rhythm XD se juega con el mouse y teclado, aunque puede ser jugado con una infinidad de dispositivos que van desde controles, controles de movimiento, y hasta con sets de DJ MIDI. Es increíble ver videos en el canal de YouTube del desarrollador donde muestran personas disfrutando del juego con estos sets de DJ, dejamos uno aquí.
Pero bueno, vamos a lo que vinimos. La partida comienza al escoger la pista, de salida hay 30 disponibles para escoger, que por sí mismas varían en dificultad, pasando por fácil, normal, difícil, y extremo. En las dos primeras dificultades (si usamos mouse y teclado) empleamos únicamente el ratón, mientras que en las siguientes dos se agregan más notas que exigen el uso de botones del teclado como la barra espaciadora para aplicar otros tonos.
Cuando escogemos nuestra pista, entramos a la pantalla de juego, que es básicamente una pista por la que llegan flotando las notas, que pueden ser círculos rojos, azules, o líneas verdes que van de lado a lado en la pista. En el video a continuación pueden ver un poco más cómo funciona.
Entonces, para poder conseguir puntaje, debemos alinear la ruleta en la parte inferior, para que los colores de esta hagan pareja con el color del círculo o elemento que viene en camino por la pista. Algunas mecánicas necesitan que presionemos el click una vez, mientras que otras requieren que sigamos un patrón sosteniendo el click hasta que termine el patrón en cuestión. Otras veces haremos girar la ruleta hacia la izquierda o derecha. Suena fácil, pero hacer todo esto anterior en menos de un segundo es realmente complicado; cuando hablamos de satisfacción al inicio, nos referíamos a lo bien que se siente cuando logramos hacer alguna de estas jugadas a la perfección.
En las pistas exigentes tendremos que practicar para no vernos sobrecogidos por la gran cantidad de cosas que tenemos que hacer en los momentos cumbre, y es que si fallamos una nota, perdemos vida en un contador de vitalidad, por lo que fallar mucho puede llegar a hacer que debamos reiniciar; igualmente, con dar una nota correcta ganamos una fracción de esa vitalidad perdida. Esta mecánica agrega un desafío extra que nos va a tener con el corazón en la garganta.
La jugabilidad en sí es súper sencilla, y lo que queda es nada más perfeccionar nuestra habilidad para lograr vencer las pistas en los niveles más altos. Vamos a ser calificados, y las mejores actuaciones nos otorgan puntajes que van a una tabla de puntuaciones que podemos ver siempre a la hora de escoger la pista que queremos jugar. Spin Rhythm XD resulta tan cómodo y fácil de entender que hasta mis hijos jugaron y la pasaron demasiado bien, ¡yo la pasé fantástico!
Sin duda puedo recomendar Spin Rhythm a cualquier jugador. Es retador, complicado en niveles difíciles, pero muy satisfactorio cuando ves fluir las notas de manera correcta sin fallar los golpes a lo largo de la pista.
A mí, me causó una gran impresión lo simple que es jugarlo (aún con lo complicado que puede ser lograr llegar al final de una pista en dificultad alta), siempre al finalizar un nivel me dieron ganas de jugar de nuevo la misma pista para tratar de vencer mi record anterior o hacerlo en una dificultad mayor; mis hijos la pasaron genial en el modo «fácil «, pues aunque no es tan retador, para ellos termina siendo una experiencia divertida (igual que para mi persona) super colorida con música pegajosa. Spin Rhythm XD es un juego para toda la familia.
De momento, Spin Rhythm XD llegará al Early Access de Steam mañana 22 de octubre de 2019, y se espera que salga de manera completa en 2020 con una versión de Nintendo Switch.
