The Hollywood Reporter dio a conocer hoy en exclusiva que el actor de James Bond tendrá su primer papel en una cinta de superhéroes con Black Adam, protagonizada por Dwayne Johnson como el antihéroe de DC.

Brosnan, conocido por ser uno de los pocos actores que ha llevado el manto del Agente 007, se suma al elenco conformado por Johnson, Aldis Hodge como Hawkman, Noah Centineo como Atom Smasher y Quintessa Swindell como Cyclone, en la producción que introduirá a la gran pantalla a la Sociedad de la Justicia, precursora en DC de la Liga de la Justicia.

Esta es la segunda cinta de New Line/DC, la primera fue Shazam! la cual fue bien recibida en taquilla y por la crítica en el 2019. Black Adam y Shazam son archirrivales en los comics, por lo que la llegada del personaje que actuará «La Roca», ha sido esperada desde hace varios años. Se espera que el proyecto inicie producción el próximo mes en Atlanta.

Por el momento no se ha revelado detalles de la trama, y tampoco a quién interpretará Marwan Kenzari, el actor de Aladdin y The Old Guard que también está en el elenco. Brosnan interpretará a Kent Nelson, también conocido como Dr. Fate, hijo de un arqueólogo al que le enseñaron habilidades de hechicería y le dieron el mágico Helmet of Fate. El personaje, creado por Gardner Fox y Howard Sherman, es uno de los personajes más antiguos de DC y apareció por primera vez en More Fun Comics # 5 de 1940.
