El autor de los libros de la saga de Geralt de Rivia o saga de El Brujo, Andrzej Sapkowski, ha dado su visto bueno (aunque de una manera bastante reservada) a la adaptación que ha hecho Netflix de su obra con la serie ‘The Witcher’, la cual se ha convertido en una de las series más exitosas de la plataforma.
En una entrevista con Gizmodo, el escritor polaco habló de que tomó de manera muy positiva la oferta que le hizo Netflix para poder obtener los derechos de la más famosa de sus historias. Además añadió que casi no estuvo implicado en el proceso de desarrollo de la serie, pues defiende al máximo la libertad del artista y su expresión.
A pesar de que mencionó que no sería muy objetiva su opinión sobre la producción televisiva ya que él figura en los créditos, sí dijo con mucha seguridad que «tendría que ser un idiota para decir lo que no han adaptado bien». Con respecto a las adaptaciones de los videojuegos no quiso decir mucho, pues afirmó nunca haber jugado un videojuego en su vida.
Aprovechó también la entrevista para agradecer por el repunte que han tenido las ventas de sus novelas últimamente e invitó a los fans de la serie de Netflix a que se lean los libros apenas puedan.
