En Costa Rica, al igual que en el resto del mundo, la pandemia del COVID-19 fue la causante de que se cancelaran muchísimos eventos. Entre estos se encontró la Comic Con 2020, la cual tuvo que adaptarse a un formato virtual y aún así lograron atraer a bastantes espectadores para ser la primera vez en esta modalidad.

Con la llegada de la vacuna para lograr inmunidad ante el coronavirus en el país, los organizadores de Comic Con Costa Rica mantienen la esperanza de que el evento se pueda realizar en algún momento del año de manera presencial, aunque son realistas y saben que probablemente no será en el primer semestre.
Empiezo con lo que todos sabemos: aún no se vislumbra claridad en cuándo terminará la pandemia, por lo que nosotros en Comic Con Costa Rica tenemos que ser responsables con nosotros, los participantes y los fans. Así que estamos buscando opciones de la mano con las autoridades del país (…) Lo importante es cada uno puede ser un héroe en esta pandemia, respetando lo más posible los protocolos y medidas anunciadas, para que nos veamos todos en Comic Con Costa Rica, el evento será aún mejor de lo que planeamos para 2020, que respetará todos los protocolos y donde los visitantes se sentirán seguros.

Los organizadores de este popular evento de la cultura geek costarricense tienen la intención principal de resguardar la seguridad de los asistentes, sin descuidar la calidad del evento. Ahora queda esperar las resoluciones que mita el Ministerio de Salud de Costa Rica, entidad con la que han estado manteniendo contacto en los últimos días.
