La información brindada por Deadline menciona que la película sucedería luego de la recién estrenada película «The Many Saints of Newark». Al respecto Chase dijo que no volvería a la serie a no ser que pudiera co-escribir el guion con Terry Winter.
Al parecer hay The Sopranos para rato y la idea de hacer una precuela suena a un gran paso. Además de esto HBO Max necesita generar contenido a como pueda para poder competir en el mercado del stream y qué mejor forma que con una de las series mejor valoradas de todos los tiempos.
