El próximo proyecto de Henry Cavill será bastante diferente a los papeles en los que acostumbramos verlo. Según reporta Deadline, el actor protagonizará la adaptación de The Rosie Project, una novela del 2013 del autor australiano Graeme Simsion.
Cavill, que ha interpretado papeles como Superman en múltiples cintas del DCUE, The Witcher en la serie de Netflix, Sherlock en Enola Holmes, y August Walker en Mission: Impossible – Fallout, esta vez probará un género diferente, tal vez más similar a Clark Kent que al Hombre de Acero. Podría ser que el actor este buscando diversificar un poco su carrera de actuación, después de producciones cargadas de acción y aventura. The Rosie Project es una cinta que le daría esta oportunidad de explorar otras áreas de su rango actoral.
La producción aún no ha elegida a la protagonista femenina, aunque se había considerado a Jennifer Lawrence en algún momento pero esto no llegó a una negociación final. En ese momento Richard Linklater (Boyhood) iba a ser el director.
The Rosie Project es la historia del profesor de genética Don Tillman, quien lucha por tener una relación seria con las mujeres y nunca ha tenido una segunda cita. Para corregir esto, diseña un cuestionario para evaluar la idoneidad de las parejas femeninas. Sin embargo, su plan se arruina cuando conoce a Rosie, quien es todo lo que el cuestionario descarta (salvaje, caótica y despreocupada). La pareja de opuestos se enamora en esta comedia romántica.
Tendremos que esperar para ver de qué forma muestran que alguien que se vea como Henry Cavill nunca haya tenido una segunda cita… pero sin duda será interesante ver al actor en un papel tan diferente.
