Las Tortugas Ninja son unos de los personajes de caricaturas más queridos por fans de todas las generaciones. Esto se demuestra en la recaudación de apenas 80 millones de dólares en Estados Unidos por parte de su secuela, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows.
No obstante, ni el cineasta ni el estudio quieren darse por vencidos. Desde entonces, las tortugas han estado en varias series animadas bastante exitosas e incluso lograron llegar hacer un cruce al juego de peleas Injustice 2.
