Se hacen chistes y memes en Internet de que ‘Sonic The Hedgehog’ va ser la única película nominada al Oscar en la ceremonia de 2021, pues fue de los pocos éxitos comerciales que tuvo su paso por los cines este año sin mayor inconveniente a causa de la pandemia del coronavirus. Pero por más fan que seás de la película del erizo azul, es prácticamente imposible que esta cinta tenga alguna oportunidad en los Premios Oscar.
También corre el rumor de que del todo no habrá entrega de Premios de la Academia el próximo año, pero no se ha confirmado nada, lo que sí se ha informado de manera oficial es que la Academia de las Artes y las Ciencias Cinematográficas está buscando la forma de adaptarse a los paradigmas de inclusión por los que se lucha hoy en día. Es por eso que se anunció que habrá 10 nominadas a Mejor Película del Año a partir de la entrega 94 de premios en 2022.
Aunque la Academia ha avanzado, sabemos que hay mucho más trabajo por hacer para asegurar oportunidades equitativas en todos los ámbitos. La necesidad de abordar estos asuntos es urgente. Con ese fin, modificaremos — y seguiremos examinando — nuestras reglas y procedimientos para asegurar que todas las voces sean escuchadas y celebradas.
