Sin duda alguna durante años se ha intentado adaptar videojuegos a otros medios como la televisión y el cine de los cuales muy pocos han salido bien librados, sin embargo, si había un videojuego que pedía a gritos una adaptación este era Cuphead y la plataforma de streaming Netflix nos ha brindado dicha propuesta la cual ha resultado ser una grata sorpresa.

Argumento:

Para quien no lo sepa Cuphead es un juego de plataformas y disparos al mejor estilo de Megaman con un arte característico de las caricaturas de la década de 1920 y una estética espectacular, cuyo argumento es relativamente simple y haciendo referencia a la leyenda de Robert Johnson, Cuphead y su hermano Mugman pierden una apuesta contra el diablo y la única forma de librarse es recorrer las Ink Isles y recuperar las almas de otros personajes que aun andan sueltos, con los cuales se desarrollan peleas contra distintos jefes y algunos segmentos para recolectar monedas y mejorar nuestros poderes.


El videojuego sin duda tomo al mundo por sorpresa convirtiéndose en uno de los mas aclamados en años recientes y con este éxito en mente una adaptación del mismo era casi inevitable. Si bien su argumento original era interesante la dirección que tomaron en su contraparte animada para Netflix fue tomar los personajes existentes y ponerlos en situaciones mas cotidianas, dándonos una nueva perspectiva y expandiendo el universo existente del videojuego.


Ahora Cuphead de nuevo pierde su alma contra el diablo pero logra recuperarla a tiempo y el diablo hará lo posible para reclamarla ya que su orgullo esta en juego, por lo que ambos protagonistas harán lo posible para evitarlo.


Animación y Sonido:


El apartado visual de Cuphead (El videojuego) es algo que destacó desde el primer momento que fue mostrado al público, y la decisión lógica hubiera sido transferir el mismo estilo de animación Retro a la serie, pero de manera acertada decidiendo utilizar un estilo de animación más actual que brilla por secuencias llenas de carisma y energía especialmente cuando “El Diablo” aparece y se transforma en diferentes animales, o utiliza sus poderes para controlar elementos de su entorno, es todo un deleite visual.

En cuanto a la actuación de vos, esta tanto es inglés como en español latino hacen un gran trabajo, donde Don Tetera, El Diablo, Mugman y Cuphead entre muchos otros rebosan de personalidad incluso después de unas pocas líneas, esto es especialmente importante ya que sin duda el tono de la serie esta pensada para que sea vista por niños, así que el doblaje latino es siempre bienvenido, sin embargo es inevitable que algunas bromas con juegos de palabras de la versión inglesa se pierdan con la traducción, pero nada que haga romper el ritmo de la serie.

A nivel musical es notorio el uso de melodías clásicas haciendo alusión a la caricaturas en las que fueron originalmente inspirados, y dando especial énfasis a los efectos de sonido que dan en el clavo para despertar esa nostalgia.

Conclusión:

El Show de Cuphead es un imperdible tanto para niños como para adultos que sin duda disfrutaran de su simpleza y personalidad, la serie no pretende mas que entretener por lo que si vas con la intensión de ver una historia con giros de trama inesperados, esta serie difícilmente será lo que buscas, pero como adaptación hace su trabajo bien y sin duda deja la semilla para futuras temporadas.
