Al parecer Sony no solo sabe que la segunda parte de Venom va a ser un éxito, sino que además tiene planeada una tercera entrega para el antihéroe favorito de todos. Y esto podría estar ocurriendo mucho antes de lo que pensamos. Esto lo decimos ya que Tom Hardy habló recientemente con Digital Spy y mencionó el tema de una tercera pelícual. Al respecto el actor comentó:
«Estas cosas [generalmente] vienen de tres en tres (…) si va a haber una nueva película – y dependen en gran medida del éxito de cada una, por lo que no se puede contar con que vuelva a suceder nunca más-, cada una tiene que ser como si fuera la última. Pero yo creo que es muy importante, si te adentras en algo pensando en que uno, dos y tres son lo mismo … la misma historia, la misma película. Para que no te sorprendas de repente por tener que hacer una tercera de la nada. Tiene que haber algo de continuidad en una tercera y un cuarta y una quinta, y si alguien dice ‘no’, está bien. Déjelo ir y pasar a otra cosa «.
